Chateau Puech Haut - Saint Drézéry and Pic Saint Loup in Languedoc

Grape varieties that were originally chosen for the vineyard were Grenache and Syrah. After that, Gérard Bru bought some neighboring lands with old Carignans (50 to 60 years old) and planted some hectares with the three white varieties of the Rhône – Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne. Today the vineyard stretches across 184 hectares, including 92 in Saint Drézéry and 19 in Pic Saint Loup. Their appellation era is Coteaux du Languedoc, Saint Drézéry, which is the name of the community and the smallest of the “terroirs” of Languedoc.

All of the wines of Château Puech-Haut are powerful and full-bodied with a lot of character.

Famille Laudet Domaine de Labelle - Cotes de Cascogne, Tursan & Landes Selection

Côtes de Gascogne is a wine-growing district in Gascony producing principally white wine.
It is mainly located in the département of the Gers in the French region Midi-Pyrénées, and it belongs to the wine region South West France. The designation Côtes the Gascogne is used for a Vin de Pays ("country wine") produced in the Armagnac area.
The decree of the 13th of September 1968 created the difference between a Vin de Pays and simpler table wine, the so-called Vin de table. The designation Côtes de Gascogne obliges the producers to respect the stricter rules and production standards, which were adopted with the decree of the 25 January 1982.

Domaine Hegarty Chamans, Minervois of the Languedoc

Sir John Hegarty, world renowned in the advertising industry purchased Domaine de Chamans in 2002 partly as a holiday retreat, but also with a serious interest in wine. He knew that he would need serious expertise to get the most from this old estate and immediately employed a young, talented local winemaker called Samuel Berger who has been there ever since.
The 22ha of vines sitting in the south facing foothills of the Montagne Noire surrounded by garrigue and woodland were reduced to 15ha as the poorest vines were ripped up and the isolation from other vineyards, meant they could pursue a rigorous non-interventionist farming philosophy, based on organic and biodynamic principles to respect the ecosystem. (AB Certified and Demeter)
To ensure quality, the vines are pruned to produce 20-30 hl per ha. Use of machines is minimal, the sheep (including 1 black one like the logo) are used to control the natural vegetation between the vines and they do all their own composting and natural treatments. The cellar is beautifully organised and all of this has led to the creation of some of the most highly rated wines in the whole region.
